Wearing the policy
It's
not just the plants that will be turning green this Spring. The new
work attire for Organic Waste staff will be changing from the
familiar Wessex Water blue to a striking GENeco green.
The
colour change is not just to reflect the environmental nature of
the Organic Waste business but will embrace the ethics that
underpin our trading policies.
The new uniforms, currently undergoing a staff 'use it and
abuse it' trial, will be provided by ethicalworkwear.com. Ethical
is a company that sources products and garments with the highest
levels of protection and comfort but coupled with the lowest
possible impact on the environment and that contribute fairly to
the workforce and communities that produce them.
For
example the safety footwear manufacturer invests profits into local
community building projects, healthcare and transport for its
workers, while the outerwear supplier is creating new markets for
recycled materials.
All producers in the supply chain have to demonstrate that
they provide a 'living' wage - enough to sustain a family's food,
housing, healthcare and education.
Not only will the staff look
good in their new sweaters and shirts but they can feel good about
them as well.
