Sharpness doubles domestic

Since its commissioning Sharpness treatment centre has been going from strength to strength. The number of loads now being regularly treated at the site has more than doubled since October 2010 when the site was able to 'shake off' its closure problems.

Glevum Effluent Disposal and Andersons Waste Management Ltd, which are two regular customers of the treatment centre, have both increased their use of the facility now that it is offering virtually uninterrupted service.

Mike Hawkins, the owner of Glevum Effluent Disposal, was particularly enthusiastic about the attitude of the staff commenting: 'They are very friendly and approachable and will do what they can to make slots available so that we can get our deliveries in.'

On other issues Mike said: 'The site is also perfectly situated for early morning deliveries as it is only a few miles from our base and currently it is reasonably competitively priced.'

Mark Anderson, another regular user of the site has been equally impressed with the levels of service and the 'can do attitude' from the treatment centre staff. For those that work at Sharpness the increase in trade is good news. Marc Williams, site operator, pointed out that: 'the site is busiest in the mornings so there is plenty of opportunity for quick turnarounds in the afternoons.' Marc continued: 'The increase in trade means more paperwork, but I have no complaints really.'
