An unwelcome sound of spring
An unwelcome sound of spring
Most of us associate latespring and early summer with the sounds
of new born lambs, birdsong and the industrious buzzing of bees.
But this year we can add the grating and snapping of pipe-couplings
as a record number of drivers across the region have absentmindedly
tried to leave a treatment centre without disconnecting their
pipework.
In five separate incidents, at three
different locations, the new snap-off couplings may well have
proved their worth and minimised the amount of damage, but these
careless incidents still put discharge points out of action for
anywhere up to a week.
Remember each incident results in the
customer being charged a minimum £140 - the cost of replacing a
coupling - plus the cost of any additional remedial work that may
be required.
