STOP, THINK, UNCOUPLE
It's embarrassing, it's expensive for our
customers and it regularly continues to
happen across Organic
Waste's treatment centres.
In a further effort to remind drivers not to drive away while
their pipework is still connected to the discharge point Organic
Waste is issuing drivers with suitably worded reminders on a series
of vehicle cab air fresheners.
This will be a 12 month campaign
changing the message and fragrance on a quarterly basis with the
fragrances reflecting seasonal changes as the quarters roll by.
Rachel Creed, Organic Waste manager,
said: 'At Organic Waste Health and Safety is not an optional extra.
To date we have not had anyone injured in these incidents but to
ensure that never happens we are determined to reduce the number of
'incidents' to zero.'
Despite Organic Waste News
regularly reporting on the operational issues and financial
consequences of these incidents the numbers remain worryingly
high.
Rachel added: 'Alongside the air
freshener campaign Organic Waste will, over the coming months, be
rolling out a series of posters and banners at various sites around
the region. I am hopeful that we can raise the profile and
awareness of this issue to such a point that we can completely
eliminate the problem and save everyone time, trouble and
unnecessary cost.'
