BE PREPARED!
Over the coming months there
will be a number of changes to the traffic management plans for
Bristol sewage treatment works (STW) as work progresses on the new
GENeco food waste anaerobic digestion plant.
This work will, on occasions, affect
the traffic flows into the treatment centre.
The Organic Waste team will give as much warning as possible as to
when the changes will take place. However, the nature of
construction work always brings the risk of short notice so,
once construction is started in earnest, never assume your approach
to the treatment centre will be as it was on your last visit.
Routes into the treatment centre can,
and are likely to, change dramatically and you may even find the
main approach road will be out of action. Entry to the site could
be via the road leading to the Bristol City household recycling
centre, through rear gates and around the sites internal perimeter
roadways.
Notification of diversions will be
well in advance of your approach and clearly marked both before
arrival and within the STW.
All personnel working at the STW are,
of course, used to tanker traffic but the volume of traffic driving
round the site will on occasions increase significantly and drivers
should ensure that safety and signage is rigorously observed.
If you are an ex Boy Scout you should
have no problem in remembering to use your old motto BE
PREPARED !
