A to Z of permitted wastes

Whilst the A to Z lists the waste streams that the Environment Agency, has authorised Wessex Water to accept, the incoming waste still has to be sampled monitored, recorded and authorised as safe for the works to accept.

Through the following processes Organic Waste constantly review all waste streams to ensure they are compliant with regulations and controls:

Customer waste treatment enquiry – details all the information necessary to process the inquiry and to determine whether a sample of the waste is required for analysis.

Control form for Controlled Waste acceptance – confirms authorisation and information such as the waste producer, treatment charge and any special conditions which may apply. This form must be signed and returned to Organic Waste before a booking will be accepted.

Booking – all deliveries of Controlled Waste must be booked in advance of delivery to ensure they do not compromise the treatment works compliance consents.

For information about terms and conditions contact the Organic Waste office on 01225 524560
